Hello everyone

Life here in Medellín has been amazing. The view that I see every day is truly amazing, but it’s even better at night. Picture this the sun is setting, and you’re looking out over the city watching a wave of streetlights start to flicker on. Racing against the dark before it can fully set in. Not only the street light but people’s homes start to join in on the race colliding in a flood of different colors rolling over the mountains. That’s when I heard God speak saying you know each light is like all the angles that I have around you protecting you on every given day. Let me tell you that really hit me. Even though you cannot tell in the image I am surrounded by mountains that have lights on them just like in the picture. Standing there in all looking at this and thinking of the song that even says “it may look like I’m surrounded but I’m surrounded by you.” Really put that song into perspective. The reason why we sometimes forget that we are surrounded by God because he will never leave us nor forsake us. We just sometimes lose focus ( speaking for myself also) and look at things with a blurred perspective and not looking at life how he intended us to walk through life.

So that’s a quick update on what God has been telling me. Now to talk about how I got locked in the back of a truck. And yes I truly did get locked in the back of a truck. Let me tell you it’s actually not as bad as you may think haha. just sitting in the dark with only a few slights of light to look through really makes you think and it’s something quite peaceful about it. Hahaha, before my father tries to get on a plane, it was for ministry and for safety. The ministry host that we are with does outreach at a place that has dealers on one side, and users on the other. While they are there they had out bread and a drink called Agua panela, pretty much sugar water, to the people so they can have some food and drink. And to let them know that they are loved. The host had no pictures or videos of this and they really wanted some. So with a yes in my heart and my camera in hand, I went to the meeting to prep for the night. That’s when they told me that I will be locked in the back of a covered truck taking pictures so I would not be jumped so people could have my camera to sell.

Let me tell you something. Even though they said that I did not fear anything. I could feel the heaviness that was there. But fear never entered my mind. Once the night was over I took a picture out the back of the truck with the doors wide open. But after looking at it I was like crap I wish it was a better picture. That’s when the Holy Spirit told me to look again. So I did and he spoke to me saying. So many Christians go through life with this kind of focus on topics like this. Blurred and not even trying to focus on the story that is the person standing in front of them. They rather look at life like this instead of changing their focus. I know for myself that’s not how I want to live life with that kind of focus. Yeah, know I joked about being looked in the back of a truck but something beautiful came out of it. Which is the picture that is posted with this blog.

So I leave you with this where is your focus and what does it look like to change your focus to view the bigger picture and not just the small picture in front of you.

  1. Truly amazing testimony your mother would be so proud and I’m know your father and brother are as well! ???????? God keeps you safe

  2. Zaiah great reminder! Praying for continual clear vision and then boldness to walk forward in His calling! Love the pic!

  3. Love it! I think the photo turned out really cool, but even better than that is the lesson you took from it. I am always thankful for a reminder to evaluate my perspective/focus. Also sounds like a pretty cool ministry opportunity/experience!
