So all they way in Colombia my father tells me did you know you are adopted. Let me tell you this was a massive shock to get even more so when you miles and miles away from home. Even though it was a shock it was the best news that I could receive. One because it confirmed a lot of things that I have been learning since being on the race. And the second reason it created a new since of confidence in who I am.

So quick backstory when training camp started we had the chance to buy a prophetic key. Theses keys are prayed over and then stamped with a word or bible verse that God has in store for you. The key that I was given had the world embrace on it. Of course I had no idea what that meant. Meaning how am I going to apply embrace in my life. So naturally I looked up the meaning of the world and embrace means to hold closely or to accept/support a belief or theory. Still I was like this does not help me any

So from Chicago to Colombia month 9 of my 11 month mission trip. My father tells me that He wants me to embrace being a chilled again. So I was like cool cool I can do that. Also I finally knew what my key meant. So I prayed about it and was looking for what it really means to embrace being a child again. That’s when He told me that I was adopted. This was weeks later while I was in South Africa. This is when he fully tells me what it means to fully embrace being a child again.

So what does that mean to embrace being a child again. To embrace being a child you have to first understand that you are adopted. Looking at Ephesians chapter one verses 3-14. Looking at this you can see what it means to be adopted by the Father. Plus all the cool things that he gives us. Know this is truly amazing and seeing how great my Father is and how much he wants to give us is the best thing ever.

So one take away i have for you is know that you are adopted by the Father and you can go to him for anything. And we wants us to go to him all the time even for the things that you see as small. He cares about the small things as much as the big things that we go to him with.

So yeah I am adopted and I hope that you know you are too.

  1. Zaiah are you ok?? thats alot to absorb? I’m praying for you for Gods love to continue to embrace you in the days ahead! thank you for reminding us we are all adopted and we have a Heavenly Father that loves us. We are here if you need anything!

  2. Thanks for sharing about the meaning of your key, Zaiah! I had read in the journey markers that you had come to the understanding of it, but I didn’t know the story until now.
It’s wonderful to hear how you are embracing life as a child. One of my favorite scriptures is John 1:12
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”
    Love you Zaiah!
